I love the songket too. Aren't they simply lovely? This is a nice shade of teal :). Tres chic.

Ha, yes teal is the colour. I have been calling it a shade of blue to my mom. sheesh. =) i love songket and those cotton or kain kasa bersulam (usually used for kebaya), they are lovely. by the way... have we met sometime ago?

Kebaya kasa bersulam - definitely among the favourites. Songket made into kebaya labuh nyonya with kerongsang. Another beauty for it's simplicity. Have we met sometime ago? yes.

oohh ... speaking of kerongsang. when i was at Jalan TAR, at the same shop i took this shot, they dispalyed a nice silverish black and grey songket with a silver kerongsong. It looked old - and it had ornage or yellow stones on it. very nice, asked if it was for sale but it wasn't. If it was I would have borong the item.

Silverish black and grey songket, matched with a contrasting orange/yellow-stoned kerongsang. Definitely a vintage. Sure you want to borong if it were borong-a-ble? I think it might cost a bomb..perhaps a tad too much for a set of songket n kerongsang. Custom-make ur own songket in Tganu, and do the same for your kerongsang in Melaka. You will get a similar outcome sans the pricey price tag. Which reminds me...
